Schedule: All trips booked to Katmai Park for daily or overnight stays will be provided with full services and accommodations from Katmai Sky Lodge, including guided Bear Viewing, fishing, and other wildlife excursions. Day trips are scheduled to visit the Lodge either upon arrival, during, or prior to departure. Weather conditions or other factors may interfere with your daily or overnight stays. We are not responsible for any delays, changes, or disruptions that may occur during your trip if they relate to safety. Safety is our top priority and will not be compromised.
Trip details: All our flights depart from either Katmai Sky Lodge in Katmai National Park or Branham Hangar at Lake Hood Seaplane Base near Anchorage International Airport.
Time Schedule:
Depart Anchorage —10:am Branham Hangar, Lake Hood Seaplane Base.
Flight Time —10 am to 11:30 am (90 minutes) to Katmai Park.
Arrival — 11:30 am, Katmai Sky Lodge. Lunch.
Depart —12:00, noon—departure from the Lodge for Bear Destinations.
Arrival — 12:15/12:30 pm, Brooks Camp, or Alternate.
Guided/Hosted Activities —12:00 pm to 5:pm /6:30 pm.
Departure — 5 pm to 6:30 pm, Katmai Park to Anchorage or Lodge.
Arrival — 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm, Anchorage, or 5:30 pm to 6:45 pm, The Lodge.
It is essential to note that this schedule may change due to weather and other factors.
Upon entering The Park at Brooks Camp facilities, your pilot guide and/or assigned lodge guide will assist you in attending the “Bear School” video and meeting. This is mandatory before continuing with activities. Your guide will escort you along the walkway to the falls viewing area. The platform has limited space and requires reservations. Wait times can range from none to over an hour. During good weather and bear activity, heavy visitation occurs. Activity is always present; at times, as many as fifty or more bears can be spotted simultaneously at the falls and along the river corridor.
What to Bring: Day trippers: Food will be provided by Alaska Bear Trips and Katmai Sky Lodge, which will be packed fresh daily.
Overnight or longer stays: 50 lbs or less of suitable warm clothing that will be comfortable for your stay, with temperatures ranging from 40°F (5°C) to 70°F (22°C), etc.

Light Daypack, sunglasses, bug spray, camera, binoculars, essential medications.
WHAT TO WEAR:
Alaska’s weather can change dramatically throughout the day. The basic rules for clothing is to dress comfortably and in layers; Wear comfortable shoes (waterproof ideally), and bring a rain jacket you can stuff in your day pack.
FOOD?
Alaska Bear Trips provides a great lunch, snacks and drinks which will be packed special daily. Make sure to let us know if you have any food restrictions.
