Day Trips to Brooks Falls in Katmai National Park
ALASKA BEAR TRIPS
Our Katmai Bear Trip:
Guided and hosted multi-day, overnight, and daily trips for Brown Bear viewing from Katmai Sky Lodge, located in Katmai National Park.
Alaska Bear Trips offers overnight, daily, or multi-day guided excursions for Brown Bear Viewing to Brooks Falls and the surrounding areas, while day trips last from six to ten hours. Overnight or multi-day excursions can provide up to twelve hours of Bear activities each day. Your stay includes all meals, services, and related accommodations.
Flights from our Anchorage base go directly to the lodge in about ninety minutes. Drinks and snacks will be available on the flight. Following lunch and rest, you will depart for Brooks Falls, only a five-minute flight from the lodge, which is the headquarters of the National Park Service in Katmai Park. If we decide not to fly to Brooks Falls, we will alternate to another bear viewing location.
Private Pilot-Guide. Your pilot will also be your guide and accompany you throughout your day trip. He/She is well qualified and experienced in providing guided wilderness trips, especially for Brown Bear. If he/she is needed for other flying duties in support of the lodge, you will be accompanied by one of our other well-qualified Bear and Wildlife lodge guides. Occasionally, we might find it necessary to stop first at Naknek/ Brooks Lake, due to weather or other flight safety conditions. Our staff will have already prepared lunch in anticipation of this or other flight deviations. In the event we land at Brooks first, lunch will be served at the designated eating area, as required by the National Park Service for bear safety measures.
